Donna Mae Bowerson

Donna Mae Bowerson, a beacon of unwavering faith and boundless love, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. Born on February 11, 1936, in Marine City, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Harold and Theresa (Heuser) Beauvais. Donna's life was a testament to the strength and dedication she so effortlessly embodied, leaving a legacy of courage and care that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.
Donna's journey through life was marked by her loving marriage to the late Robert Bowerson. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, raising a family that would come to include their children, Daniel (Maura), Ruth Bowerson, Terri Deaver (Dwayne), and David (Sherry), as well as 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, who brought immense joy to Donna's life. She was a sister to Ray (Joan) Beauvais and Jerry (Nita) Beauvais, who, along with her children and their families, will carry forward her legacy of love. Donna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, her youngest son, Rob, and youngest daughter, Susan, who now welcome her with open arms.
Donna's professional life was spent at Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she was a dedicated employee in the catalog department and shipping and receiving. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in all she did. Beyond her professional endeavors, Donna was deeply involved in her community as a Eucharistic minister at St. John Vianney in Spokane, WA. Her service to her faith community was a reflection of her strong spiritual foundation, which guided her throughout her life.
Her interests were as varied as they were passionate. Donna spent many years crocheting, a skill that earned her numerous blue ribbons at the county fair. Her love for cooking and baking was a gift she shared generously with her family, creating memories and traditions that will be cherished for generations. Camping with her husband and some of her grandchildren in their fifth wheel was among her favorite pastimes, as was reminiscing about her youthful days ice skating on Belle River. Donna's love for life's simple pleasures was matched only by her profound faith, which she nurtured and shared with all who knew her.
Donna was a faith-filled woman whose courage and loving nature were the cornerstones of her existence. She instilled in her family the importance of caring for one another, especially in times of need. Her strength and dedication were her greatest teachings, and they will live on through the lives of her family and friends.
As we remember Donna, we are reminded of the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Donna's love and spirit have indeed become a part of us, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
Donna Mae Bowerson's life was a beautiful tapestry of faith, courage, and love-a tapestry that will continue to provide warmth and comfort to all who were wrapped in its embrace. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we do so with gratitude for the time we were blessed to share with her and with the knowledge that her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she touched.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial, Marine City.
