Susan K. (Leonard) Brown, 63, of Port Royal, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born Nov. 17, 1960, she is the daughter of Alma J. (Isenberg) Leonard Doughten and the late Lewis A. Leonard.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dwaine F. "Brownie" Brown, whom she married Oct. 14, 1992, five children, Melissa S. Chesbro and companion, Bryan Wilson, Michael L. Eash and companion, Stephanie Moore, Jessica R. Funkhouser and companion, Nathan Henry, Jeremy R. Eash, and Dwaine "DJ" Brown, Jr., and ten grandchildren.
She graduated from Juniata High School in 1978 and was a volunteer coordinator for Juniata Co. Head Start for 13 ½ years. She also helped her husband with their business, Brown's Concrete Construction.
Her family was the most important thing in the world to her and she loved spending time with them.
Following Sue's wishes, she is being cremated and will not have a formal service. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a time for sharing memories at 1:30 at the Turbett Grange Hall, 12561 Rt 333 E, Port Royal, PA 17082.
Contributions may be made to help with Sue's final expenses by sending them to Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059 who is assisting with the arrangements.

I remember going home to her house one day after school and she kept me in stitches during my visit with her. I had a wonderful time and I will never forget my visit with Susan.
