On May 29, 1965, he married the former Jean Wehmeyer, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters: Jennifer Lynn Black and husband, Curtis, of York Haven; and Kathleen Ann Swailes and husband, Kevin, of Mifflintown, four grandchildren, Samantha Black Lillis and husband, Sean, Sydney Black, Nathan Swailes, and Caden Swailes, and two great-grandchildren on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Maben and Mary Louise (Johnston) Compton and two brothers, Jack R. Compton and Carl Duane Compton.

Upon graduating from the Signal School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Glenn was stationed in Taiwan and Seoul, South Korea. While in Seoul, he was sent to Panmunjom, South Korea to maintain the Crypto Equipment as negotiations were ongoing with the North Koreans after their capture of the U.S. Pueblo.

Upon returning to civilian duty, Glenn returned to the Farmers Home Administration, working in the Wellsboro Office. Within a year came a transfer to the Mifflintown County Office. Glenn provided Credit services in Rural Housing and Farm Operations until his retirement in 1994.

After his retirement, Glenn worked as a Real Estate Agent for the Marlin H. Fields and Jack Gaughen Real Estate Agencies.

Glenn was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown.

He enjoyed fishing for Bass, trips to Canada, landscaping, woodworking, gardening, and especially spending time with grandchildren.
