Obituary of Susan Bruno
Susan Weller Bruno passed away peacefully at the age of 58, surrounded by family and friends in the home she loved so well in Midway, KY on April 4, 2022. Susan was born in Huntingdon, PA on March 26, 1964, the daughter of John and Janet Weller. She is survived by her sisters Betty Snyder and Mary Weller, her husband Thomas Bruno, and her daughter Kira Bruno.
Susan graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 1982 and from Ithaca College in 1986, after which she enjoyed a successful career helping others as a physical therapist. She was a gifted healer, who knew not only how to mend pain in the body but how to lessen and lighten pain of the heart and mind as well. She brightened every room she walked into and left every soul she touched with her kindness better for having known her.
What her body lacked in strength in recent years was eclipsed by her formidable willpower and courage on her journey in search of whole body healing and wellness. She overcame battles with chronic pain and depression, choosing to see opportunities for gratitude and joy in each day. When faced with an aggressive breast cancer, Susan tirelessly explored every treatment available, fighting until her last breath for more time to enjoy the beautiful life she had made for herself.
She loved flowers, long walks, warm sunshine, and the smell of evergreen. Susan was happiest swimming, gardening, hiking at Trough Creek State Park, and taking care of her loved ones.
All are welcome to attend Susan's memorial service at the Stone Church of the Brethren in Huntingdon, PA on Wednesday, April 13th at 11:00. A meal and our favorite memories of Susie will be shared together afterwards.
