WASHINGTON-Susan Byerly, age 69, of Washington, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her sister’s home in Keota.

Susan was born June 3, 1956, in Sigourney, the daughter of Leon and Rita (Weber) Vogel. She graduated from Keota High School in 1975. On July 14, 1990, Susan married Alan Byerly at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Survivors include her husband: Alan of Washington; three siblings: Elaine (Dean) Finley of Winthrop, Maine, Patrick (Robyn) Vogel of Keota and Mary Vogel of Keota; two great nephews: Zeno and Zander Vogel and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Gary Vogel and Dan “Weasel” Vogel and nephew: Chris Vogel.

Private family burial will be held at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is caring for Susan and her family. Tributes may be made at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
