Susan Carol Walden Carey, 73, of Raymond, WA, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2024. Born on October 3, 1950, in Raymond to Robert and Martha Walden, Susan lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.

Susan, fondly known as Sue, graduated from Valley High School in 1969. She worked for Pacific County for several years, where her commitment and service were deeply appreciated. Sue had a passion for gardening, often spending her days tending to her beloved plants and flowers. Her garden was a reflection of her own nurturing spirit, always blooming and bringing beauty to the world. She found immense joy in spending time with Andy, her most loving and kind husband. Together, they created a life that was rich with affection, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

February 14, 2001, she married the love of her life, Andy Randel Carey. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, as they spent their days together nurturing their garden and enjoying each other's company. Andy was not only her husband but her best friend and confidant, sharing in all of life’s joys and challenges.

Sue's love extended beyond her garden and family to her cherished animals, especially her dogs Teddy, Ling, Sitka and Alice. They brought her endless joy and companionship, and she cared for them with the same devotion she showed to her family and friends.

Sue is preceded in death by her son, Roby Barnum, who passed on August 5, 2021. She is survived by her Husband Andy R. Carey, her daughter Tommi Barnum Kahn, stepdaughters Tammy Carey and Sandy McDonald, her brothers Bob Walden (wife Janet) and Mike Walden (wife Sandy), and her nine grandchildren. Each of these family members held a special place in Sue’s heart.

Sue's memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Sue’s life. Details of the service will be shared with family and friends.
