Susan Hales Creech, 68, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Susan was born in Wayne County to the late John Clinton Hales and Doris Virginia Bass Hales on September 6, 1956. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jimmy Darrell Creech; and sisters, Shirley Boyette and Elizabeth Nunn.
Susan had been a valuable employee of J.J. Haines and Southeastern Labs, Inc. in Goldsboro. Following her retirement, Susan enjoyed the opportunity to continue to work at Alan Sutton Jewelry where she was able to connect with many friends.
Susan graduated from Rosewood High School and worshiped at Rosewood First Baptist Church. She will be remembered by many for her beautiful voice. Susan has sung for many weddings through the years of family and friends.
A service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. A private interment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Susan is survived by her two children she was extremely proud of, a daughter, Virginia Taricani and husband Bud; a son, Jason Creech; the apple of her eye and her only granddaughter, Charlotte Taricani Brock and husband Dylan. After the death of Jimmy, Susan found joy in the love of Frito, her K-9 friend. Susan will forever leave a huge void in the lives and hearts of her family.
Susan is also survived by sisters, Pat Singleton and Roberta Weeks; brothers, John Neal and Jimmy Hales and wife, Jerry; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in Susan's memory to SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534. SMOC provided excellent care for Susan and to those they serve in our community and for this reason the family wants to remember Susan by giving to this wonderful group of caregivers.
Services are entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
