Glenda Ludlum King, 70 passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025 at her home. She was born in Columbus County to the late Thelton (Dino) Ludlum and Geraldine G. Moore.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Jones Funeral Home in Holly Ridge.

A graduate of Rosewood High School in Goldsboro, she later moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina before settling in Sneads Ferry. She enjoyed helping others and worked for the U.S. Postal Service and Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She always enjoyed the beach, especially looking for shells, shark teeth, and walking the pier. Visiting with her family and friends in the mountains always brought her much joy. She loved to talk about her grandchildren and enjoyed the company of her fur babies, Blue, Midknight, and Prince. She was an avid Duke fan and would defend the Blue Devils to any Tarheel fan that would listen.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years; Earl King, her mother Geraldine Moore and step-mother Faye Ludlum, her children; Jason King (Shanon) of Richlands, Kris King (Jessica) of Sneads Ferry, Trent Howell (Julia) of Goldsboro, Deanna Wheeler (Ashley) of Goldsboro, Joshua King and Katelyn King both of Sneads Ferry. Brothers Greg Ludlum (Kim) and Doug Gross and sisters; Donna Paschall, Susan Scott, Beth Mays, Joy Dixon, and Pam Probus, 12 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her step-father Kenneth Moore, and sisters; Kay Ludlum and Sandy Williams.
