She is survived by her son Christopher and wife Krystelle Dean, Daughter Nicole Dean, Grandchildren Javon, Christopher, Kalin, Sky, Caiden, Grace, Isaiah, Lilla, and Matthew, her brother Robert and wife Jackie Chalifoux, and several relatives and lifelong friends.
Susie, as she was known to many, graduated from Windham High School, Class of 1976 and from Eastern Connecticut State University, Class of 1980 with a degree in education. She retired after many years of employment, from Natchaug Hospital in 2021.
To Susie family was most important- you didn't have to be related by blood, if you were a friend, you were family. Even if you had not seen each other for years, when you finally got together, it was as if time didn't matter, and you just picked up where you left off. Her sense of humor was like no other and her laughter was contagious. She never missed a sports game for her son or grandson, she was their biggest fan. Susan's grandchildren were her world. Sue loved spending hours in the garden, planting flowers and veggies, she also loved crafting and getting together with her girlfriends Joann and Jacque. Susie's selfless acts never went unnoticed, she was known to put others before herself and always offered a helping hand.
The family would like to thank the staff at Mansfield Center for Rehabilitation for their excellent care, and also grateful for all that visited, called, wrote a kind word, and prayers. It is appreciated more than you know. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice, or an act of kindness in Susan's memory.
