Susan Gayle (Leonard) Gasper, 76, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. She was born on September 12, 1949 to the late Jack E. Leonard, Sr., and Clara Jean (Carlisle) Leonard. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 50 years, Alfred Gasper.
Sue was the proud owner of the Park Side Hotel for 47 years, a place she poured her heart into until selling it in 2023. Through those decades, she created far more than a business, she created a community. She welcomed everyone who walked through the doors, offering not just hospitality but genuine care, guidance, and friendship. To many, she became a mother figure, someone who listened, encouraged, and loved without hesitation.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Denise Colone and husband Bernie and Shelly Depalmer and husband Mark; grandchildren, Jillian and Gabriel Colone and Zackary and Emily Depalmer; and sister Dianne Balckburn. She is predeceased by her brother Jack Leonard.
A devoted Eagles fan, Sue brought her trademark enthusiasm to every game, cheering loud and celebrating every win with the same warmth she brought to everyday life. Loved by so many, she had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and at home.
Above all else, Sue adored her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on through her family, her community, and the countless lives she touched.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025 at 11AM at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Ave., Hershey. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service at Hershey Cemetery, Hershey.
