Susan Marie George

Rock Hill, SC - Mrs. Susan Marie George, 78, died Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Atrium Health Pineville, NC.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 2, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Catawba Ward with a closed casket. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm and burial will be in the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, SC Mrs. George was a daughter of the late John Marvin George and Evelyn Brown George. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School. After graduating she attended York Technical College. She was a former employee at Ross Distribution and the Catawba Nation Longhouse. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and cousins. She enjoyed attending Pow-Wow’s and she served on many committees and boards with the Catawba Nation. She loved working in clay making Catawba Pottery. She was very knowledgeable about the Catawba Genealogy. She loved her dog, Bella. Her favorite color was orange.

Surviving are her siblings, JoAnn Bauer and Marion Phillip George and his wife, Angel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Howard George, Charlie Lewis George USN, Hazel Faye George, John Early George USN, Roger Wayne George USM, Nancy George and Kenneth George.
