Susan Harshbarger Obituary
Susan C. (Grassmyer) Harshbarger, 79, of East Charlest St.,
Lewistown, entered into eternal rest, Saturday, January 27, 2024.
Born February 23, 1944 in McVeytown, she was preceded in death by
her parents, Susan E. (Betty) and Robert Grassmyer, Sr. of McVeytown,
PA. Her loving husband, Larry E. Harshbarger, preceded her in death,
just a few short weeks ago.
Surviving are her three daughters: Sonia D. Singh, Holly S. Fultz and
husband Scott, Marci E. Rhoades and husband Dusty, all of Lewistown;
three siblings, Roberta Hesser of Williamsport, Mary Lou Sunderland
and husband Russell of McVeytown, Robert Grassmyer and wife Pam
of Milroy; seven grandchildren, Jordan Rose and wife Misty, Joshua
Rose, Dani Miklos and husband Bernie, Mitchel Fultz and wife Halle,
Jacob Rhoades and wife Ellie, Max Fultz and wife Brittany, Mia
Rhoades; nine great grandchildren: Emmett, Connor, Parker and
Paisley Rose; Sawyer, Bensen, and Saydee Miklos; Jesse Rhoades; and
Oliva Fultz.
Susan held many jobs throughout her life, retiring to travel and
enjoying time with Larry. The inseparable couple, some might call
them, traveled near and far to watch the grandchildren's sporting
events. They could often be seen on Friday nights at the Bel-Vue or
Angelo's restaurant.
Susan was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was
kind and loving to all who knew her. Her greatest joy was being busy
helping others, especially with planning weddings, showers and parties.
Most of all, she loved doing things with her husband, and for her
grandchildren; the highlights of her life.
She was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 2,
2024 at Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown,
with Pastor Stephani Rupert officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana
Cemetery, McVeytown.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service
Friday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald
House, 745 W. Governor Rd., Hershey, PA 17033, or online at
rmhc.org.
