Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sly Family Funeral Home on Feb. 11, 2025.
Susan Maree Jeavons (nee Fair), born September 15, 1949, took her final labored breath on Saturday, February 8, 2025, with her family by her side. She is now free to run among the wildflowers, sing with the sparrows, and dance down the red dirt road alongside our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Susan was born in North Carolina among the mountains and streams. This would always be her home at heart.
She took a journey back to her favorite place several years back where she was one with nature soaking in the rushing sounds of the magnificent Mingo Falls, walking some of the same paths of her ancestors, and praising God.
She is survived by her daughters Tracy (Steve) Dennis, Jamie (Kyle) Geese, and Jennifer Toothman; grandchildren Kristi (Walter) Buzak, Stormi (Cliff) Fletcher, Ed (Jazz) Rankin, Kyle (Melissa) Dennis, Tyler (McKenna) Dennis, Haleigh Toothman (fiancé, Paul Nugent), Austin Benavente, Patrick Toothman (fiancé, Jesse Reed), Grayson Geese, Emily (Mike) Pattison, and Dawson Geese; and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her only sibling, Sheldon Fair, and many nieces and nephews.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband of over 25 years, Sidney Jeavons, her son Edward Rankin, her parents, grandparents, and numerous friends and extended family members.
A survivor of abuse, her writing touched the hearts of many. From children's poetry to stories of deep sorrow and great resolve, Susan was able to help others along their journey to healing. An author of thousands of poems, songs, and many short stories, her writing was her passion and her most beautiful way to cope.
Her constant faith comforted her as she neared the end of this chapter. In the end, it comforted us too.
In her final months, the caregivers of Hospice of Ohio Living loved her like their own grandmother and brought her great joy. Thank you for loving our mom.
Her youngest daughter, Jennifer, sacrificed so much to care for Mom at home and fulfill her wish of not entering a nursing home. Well-done and thank you, Sis!
Her constant faith comforted her as she neared the end of this chapter. In the end, it comforted us too.
In Loving Memory of Momma, with heavy hearts, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring and celebrating the life of Momma.
