Susan Price Johnson

April 26, 1947 – September 29, 2025

Susan Price Johnson, age 78, of Hot Springs, South Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at Monument Health in Rapid City.

Born in Grafton, Ohio, Susan was the daughter of Margaret (Nolan) and Norman Price. She earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and became a licensed cosmetologist, dedicating her life to both her profession and her home. On May 1, 1982, she married Clyde Johnson, her devoted husband and lifelong companion.

Susan was a devout Christian and a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Dogs for Better Living, reflecting her deep commitment to service and compassion. She was known for her love of puzzles, punning, exploring caves and auto touring across the United States, always seeking new sights and quiet adventures. Her hobbies included science fiction, gardening, cooking, volunteering for veterans, and a special fondness for carousels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister-n-law Carolyn (Johnson) Christopher, and brothers -in-law Edward and Harry Johnson.

Susan is survived by her husband, Clyde; her niece, Allison (Johnson) Dalton, and husband, Chris, of England, and their daughter, Katey; and other beloved cousins, nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, LaDonna and Esther, of CA; and her brother-in-law, Art, of Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary in Hot Springs, South Dakota, in Susan's memory.

Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home.
