Susan Lane Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 13, 2024.
Susan Yvonne Lane (74) of Charlotte, NC passed away on January 10, 2024.
Born on August 16, 1949 to Howard and Frances Lutz Lane, Susan was a strong and independent woman her entire life. She retired from Starr Electric Company where she did accounting work. A proud member of Blair Road United Methodist Church, Susan loved creating beautiful surroundings for herself and her cat, Smokey and spent many hours working in her yard. Above all else, the time she spent with her family meant the most.
Susan was a wonderful neighbor who was deeply committed to beautifying her neighborhood as head of her homeowner's association. She was a good friend to many and deeply loved in return.
Left to mourn her loss is her beloved brother Tommy (Donna) of Charlotte; loving nephews Justin (Abby) Lane and Marcus (Abby) Lane of Charlotte and John Bruner of Virginia; nieces Shea (Mike) Lane and Kristi (Adam) Ray and grandnieces Elizabeth, Savannah, Emma and Penny all of whom she adored.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Frances, brother Howard Manley and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 2pm in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Service located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte. Family will greet friends starting at 1pm. Burial at Sharon Memorial Park will follow the service.
