Susan Frances Latimer, of Farmington Hills passed away on September 4, 2024, at the age of 92. Born in Detroit, MI on April 15, 1932 to John Alexander and Ione Edna Wheelihan. Susan was a beloved member of her community and touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and kind heart.
Devoted wife of the late Richard "Dick" Latimer for 56 years. They were married August 11, 1961 until Dick's passing on June 1, 2017. Loving Mother of the late Mary Beth (Joel), Patrick (Mary), Maureen (Bob), Peggy (David), Daniel, and Timothy (Jenna). Cherished grandma of Kyle (Adria), Christopher (Lori), Caitlyn, Zachary, Claire, Emma, Julia, and Mason. Beloved great grandma of Kaden, Alexander, Rayna, and Maya
Susan led a life filled with love and laughter. She was an active member of the PEO women's group, always eager to contribute and connect with others. Her passion for music led her to be a dedicated member of her church choir for over 50 years. Susan enjoyed spending time with her friends, shopping while her husband Dick was away fishing, and cheering on her grandchildren at their various activities. She also loved to play Pinochle with friends and had a long-standing card league!
If you didn't know, Susan's high school days saw her taking up fencing! Her famous Hot Fudge became a staple at the Founder's Fest, in Downtown Farmington. bringing comfort and joy to all who tasted it. Susan's love of chocolate was well-known and brought a smile to her face whenever she indulged in her favorite treat.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 3-8pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Ave., Farmington, MI 48335. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10 am until time of Memorial Service at 11 am at First United Methodist Church of Farmington, 33112 Grand River Ave, Farmington, MI 48335.
