Susan Butler McBeath, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 13th. She leaves a legacy of love, dedication, and service to her family and community.

Susan was born to William James Butler, Jr. and (Dora) Matilda Butler in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up alongside her sister, Jane Butler Rupp, and her late brother, William James Butler, III. A proud graduate of Western Hills High School (1965), Susan pursued higher education at the University of Cincinnati, earning a BA in Classics (1969), a BS in Education (1970), and an MA in Latin (1972). She was an active and loyal member of Kappa Alpha Theta, a UC Cheerleader, and part of the inaugural Bengal cheer squad in 1968. Susan dedicated the early years of her career to teaching Latin for Cincinnati Public Schools from 1970 to 1977. Following her teaching career, she devoted herself to raising her family and volunteering with various organizations, including the PTA, Kindervelt, and the local Theta Corporation Board.

She spent countless hours serving her community. For over 30 years, Susan taught group fitness classes, primarily at the Western Hills Athletic Facility, inspiring many with her energy and enthusiasm. She was also a cherished member of the Western Hills Country Club, where she pursued her passion for golf. Susan was a lifelong learner and an avid reader who loved to be active and travel with her family.

Above all, Susan was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend to many. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Walter McBeath; her daughters, Lauren Albarella (Michael Albarella) and Allison (Hughes) McBeath; her grandchildren, Julia Albarella, Isaac Albarella, and Theo Hughes; her sister, Jane Butler Rupp; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial visitation Friday August 23rd from 4 pm until celebration of life ceremony at 6pm, all at the Western Hills Country Club 5780 Cleves Warsaw Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45233.
