Susan McCauley Obituary

Susan Windeler McCauley, 85, peacefully crossed over to Glory on November 14, 2025. She was predeceased by her high school sweetheart, Bill McCauley.
She leaves behind children: Kevin McCauley and wife Tammie of NY (5 children and 10 grandchildren), Heather (McCauley) Fick and husband Jonathan Fick of VT (2 children and 2, with one on the way, grandchildren) and William McCauley and wife Carmen of CO (7 children).
Susan lived the last 5 years in VT with her daughter and son-in law. Friends and family will miss her kind, sweet personality, gift of hospitality, and love for her family, and friends, to include the occasional stranger Bill brought home.
Susan graduated from NFA High School, Newburgh, NY, where she met and fell in love with Bill. She attended Orange County Community College. She took great pride in lovingly making and managing a beautiful and welcoming home amidst the often hectic pace introduced by Bill, the children and then grandchildren introduced, all while helping Bill run his sales business, the family craft store (1770 Crafts) and later managing rental properties in Due West, SC. Susan shared the Lord's love for her by serving others at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rock Tavern NY, Due West Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Due West, SC and lastly at Redeeming Grace Church, Georgia, VT. Her service was marked by leading and participating in home, church, and prisoner bible studies, serving in church kitchens and choirs. She loved serving the sick and shut-in with visits, meals, and countless cookies.
Family and friends are mourning Susan's physical death but are rejoicing in the assurance in the Lord's faithfulness. We know she is eternally worshipping her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Despite growing up in a church, it was not until her 20s that she realized and confessed that she was a sinner and needed to be saved from eternal death. Upon this reality, she placed her faith in the truth that it was only through Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection from the dead that she could be forgiven of her sin and one day (November 14, 2025) be resurrected to live in true joy and peace for eternity. Susan's greatest legacy is her deep personal faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and which she faithfully passed on to her whole family and those she touched.

I was so blessed to know her. It was thru my mother Sarah Pressly who considered her to be a true and dear friend. What a reunion for them in the presence of the Lord! I will surely miss her.
