Susan Ann "Bucey" McKee

Susan Bucey McKee, 78, of High Springs, Florida, died at her home on September 6, 2025. Susan Bucey McKee was born Susan Ann Bucey on November 11, 1947, in East Cleveland, Ohio to Robert Wesley Bucey and Ann A. Tanzler. Susan moved to Zephyrhills, Florida, as a child, where she grew up in the community she loved, and graduated from Zephyrhills High School with the Class of 1965. Susan later worked for HCA Healthcare until 1999. In 2004 she moved to High Springs, Florida.

Susan was preceded in death by her only son, John William Midtgard; her third husband, David Arnold McKee; and her brother, Bobby Bucey. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Ingersol, her beloved bonus daughter, Lara McKee Yanossy, her granddaughters, Tamara Hand and Sky Culbertson, and six great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Her family remembers her as a deeply loving and supportive presence who cherished every moment with them.

Music was always a special part of Susan's life. She loved all genres and created many lasting memories attending rock concerts with her son. She had a particular passion for the flute, and her gift of music touched countless young lives as she devoted herself to teaching children how to play. Susan will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and her joyful spirit. Her legacy lives on through the music she shared, the love she gave, and the memories she leaves behind.

A Memorial Service for Susan will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 3596 U.S. Highway 441, Lake City, FL 32025. The service will be live-streamed on the Gateway-Forest Lawn Facebook page and available on their website. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that Donations be considered to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
