In East Taunton, Susan M. Murphy, age 68, passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on June 18, 2025. Susan was the wife of Thomas A. Murphy for 32 years. She was born in Brockton, the daughter of the late Francis Buckley and Elizabeth (Crowninshield) Buckley. Susan was educated in Dighton schools and a graduate of Dighton-Rehoboth High School. She had been an East Taunton resident since 1997 and formerly of Dighton. Susan worked for the United Postal Service until her retirement. She enjoyed camping with her grandchildren, traveling cross country with her husband in their camper, playing cribbage, family gatherings and parties, loved her two pets "Buck and Ruba", and above all cherished her time with family. Susan is survived by her loving children; Shane Buckley and his wife Denise Marie of Taunton, Thomas Ryan Murphy and wife Sara of Fairhaven, and Shannon Louise Murphy and her fiancé Corey of East Taunton. She also leaves her siblings; Michael Buckley and wife Mary of Cornelius, NC, Daniel Buckley and wife Monica of Somerset, and Elizabeth Fischbach and husband Joseph of Rehoboth. Susan also leaves her beloved grandchildren; Mercedes Burbank, Mikayla Burbank, and Jackson Buckley all of Taunton, Rylie, Alaney, and Bailey Murphy all of Taunton, Crew Murphy of Fairhaven, Carter Murphy and Cameron Young of Taunton, and great grandchildren; Wesbrook Glavin, Cyrus Glavin, and Rylani Murphy-DeBarros. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and cousins. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O'Keefe Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Thursday, June 26th from 4-7 pm. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, June 27th at 10 am. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in Susan's memory may be made in lieu of flowers to the MSPCA-Angell at mspca.org.
