Susan Mary Murray

Susan Mary Murray, 80, a resident of RoseCrest Care Facility in Inman, SC, died November 24, 2022. Susan was born on July 11, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) C. Murray, her parents Roman S. and Evelyn M. Spielbauer, and her brother Michael E. Spielbauer.
Susan was a devout Roman Catholic, graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Milwaukee, and was a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, in Spartanburg, SC. A longtime resident of Carolina Beach, NC, she worked for many years at Carolina Sports Medicine in Wilmington, NC.
Surviving are three children: Stuart J. Murray (Neacole), of Spartanburg, SC, Christopher A. Murray (Janis), of Durham, NC, and Jennifer A. Matz (Eric) of Hastings, MN. She is survived by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Holy Infant Catholic Church at 5000 Southpark Dr, Durham, NC. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery, 1001 Mason Road, Durham, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
