Marie Harrison Green

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marie H. Green on September 27, 2025 at age of 101. Marie was a devoted wife to the Herman Douglas Green and mother to Steven A. Riggsbee that loved her dearly and a long member of Grey Stone Church. She worked at Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company for 41 years. Everyone loved her that met her. She and her husband loved to go on bus tours and traveling with their Winnebago. She loved being outside planting her flowers and going to see her friend Betty Jean that did her hair.
Mrs. Green is survived by her son, Steve Allen Riggsbee; nieces, Donna Tripp Council and Kathy Tripp Jackson (Robert); nephew, Buddy Tripp (Vicky). She is predeceased by her husband, Doug Green; parents, Henry Onzo Harrison and Rosa Williford Harrison; and sister, Catherine Tripp.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 2th at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Clay Waters officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1st at Clements Funeral Home in Durham.
