Susan Marie Flatley Napier, 79, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away on November 10, 2025. She was born on August 9, 1946, in Glen Cove, New York, to Virginia Halloran Flatley and John J. Flatley.
A devout Catholic and a proud student, Susan was among the first graduating class of Connetquot High School in 1964. Not long after, she married the love of her life, A.C. Napier, with whom she shared an enduring lifelong bond. Together they built their life in Hillsboro, Ohio, before eventually settling in Florida, where Susan spent her later years surrounded by sunshine and community.
A devoted homemaker and an endlessly curious learner, Susan never stopped studying. Whether she was exploring paralegal work, health, or real estate, she approached every subject with enthusiasm. She loved being involved in her community, participated in fundraisers, and found great joy in the friendships she made at Westminster Asbury. She cherished simple pleasures-especially a slice from Bizzarro Pizza-and the comfort of spending quality time with the people she cared about.
More than anything, Susan treasured her family. Her love for her late husband, A.C., shaped her life long after his passing. She often spoke of their romance, writing, "One-true soulmates, each half of a whole. Souls never die-our connection can never be severed." Of their marriage she wrote, "It is an unconditional love, generated from a bond connecting us throughout eternity."
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, A.C. Napier, her parents, and her brother Richard Flatley. She is survived by her brother Ronnie Flatley, his wife Joanne, and their son John Flatley of East Setauket, New York. She is also survived by her three children: Amy Floyd and her husband Bob of Chesapeake, Virginia; Sean Napier and his wife Amy of Hillsboro, Ohio; and Justin Napier, also of Hillsboro, Ohio.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Austin Gunkel of Savannah, Georgia, and his wife Amanda; Calleigh Johnson of Norfolk, Virginia, and her husband Shaye; Storm Floyd of Augusta, Georgia, and his wife Sarah; Acey Floyd of Chesapeake, Virginia; Clay Napier of Hillsboro, Ohio; Gavon Napier of Port Saint John, Florida, and his wife Kalene; Garrett Swestyn of Titusville, Florida, and his wife Tiffani; and Shyanna Gross of Seaman, Ohio, and her husband Matt. Susan was blessed as well with great-grandchildren she adored: Autumn, Aeva, Ivy, Aurora, Mikey, Cove, Maeci, Daryn, JJ, and Remi.
In keeping with her wishes, no public service will be held. Her family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate her life and remember the innumerable ways she touched their hearts
