Susan Novarro Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Susan E. Novarro, age 72, of Wallingford passed peacefully at home on July 13, 2025, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of Arthur W. Novarro. Susan was born in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Robert T. and Dorothy G. (nee Gass) Cahill.
Susan forged a successful career as a banking executive, but found true passion and meaning in her beloved family, and the friends who became family throughout her life. Her devoted relationship with her husband spanned over four decades. She especially poured her huge heart into her children and grandchildren. Though a long-term degenerative illness changed some of the ways she moved through life and the world far too early, Susan continued to live her life to the fullest. She loved to travel, get glammed up for parties and events, and spend as much time as possible by the ocean, which always gave her pleasure and peace. Susan was known by all for her awe-inspiring strength, her endless compassion, her impish humor, and her indomitable spirit.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her children, Lia Boyd and Jeremy (Christy) Boyd, her grandchildren, Isabelle, Chloe, and Grant, her sister Ellen Cahill and brothers Robert (Lucille) Cahill, Douglas (Linda) Cahill and James (Marie) Cahill, her niece and nephews, Wendy, Ehren and Ryan Cahill, as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her niece Christine Cahill-Creighton.
Per Susan's wishes, all funeral services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallingford Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life open to all will be held later this summer.
