With her daughter by her side, holding her hand, Susan Marsha Owens, age 74, passed peacefully on April 11, 2025, at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital.

Born on February 6, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio, Susan was the beloved daughter of Lewis and Virginia (Zane) French, both of whom predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her best friend Carol Barkow; brother-in-law, Rudy Wiesner; and nephew, Brian Wiesner.

Susan graduated from Bishop Hartley High School and went on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University. Her legacy includes starting the kindergarten program at St. Philip Apostle School where she worked for 6 years before continuing her vocation at St. Catharine School, dedicating 13 more years to shaping lives.

Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She never missed a holiday, birthday, or anniversary and always remembered to send a card. She had a heart that always put others first and a warmth that extended beyond the classroom into every aspect of her life.

Susan found joy in the simple pleasures – she loved spending time with family, curling up with a good book, scrapbooking memories, and doting on her beloved cats. These hobbies reflected the thoughtful and creative soul she was.

She leaves behind a loving family including her daughter Lindsey (Owens) Jordan and husband, Louis Jordan; step-grandson, Deacon Jordan; brothers, Steven, and Scott French; sister Sharon (French) Wiesner; nieces, Beth Wiesner, Cindy (French) Lee, and Jennifer (Wiesner) Glass [Jon]; nephews, Jeff [Laurie], Steve, and Chris [Vicki] Wiesner, and Matt French; as well as 13 great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Woodside Green Park Shelter, located at 213 Camrose Ct, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230. Interment private.

May Susan’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
