Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan Mary Piette, who peacefully passed away at her home, with her family by her side, in Oconto Falls on Monday, April 17, 2023. She was 74 years old. Susan had been battling serious medical issues in recent years, and her courage in facing life's challenges with grace was an inspiration to all who knew her.
She was born on April 22, 1948, in Algoma, WI., Susan was the daughter of Melvin and Regina Stika. After graduating from Algoma High School in 1966, she began her career as a clerk in the Industrial Engineering Department of Charmin Paper. Susan married her childhood crush, Joseph Piette, on December 21, 1968, and together they started a family. Susan then became a full-time stay-at-home mom and housewife, dedicating herself to raising her children. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and tending to her yard. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors with her husband during hunting season and camping with their children during the summers. As they got older, they cherished their time together at their cabin.
Susan is survived by her children and their spouses: Connie (Calvin) Eastman, Pulaski; Tamara (Dave) Doeren, Shiocton; and Jason (Melissa) Piette, Kronenwetter; eight grandchildren; Kelsey, Cade and Cailey Eastman, Samantha Piette, Shawna Allen, Chloe Robinson, Emma and Clara Piette; one sister Patricia (Patrick) Driscoll.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Piette, March 17, 2011, her parents, and sister Kathy Dettman.
There will be a memorial gathering at the Schinderle Funeral Home, 1600 Schinderle Lane, Algoma, Sunday April 30, 2023, from 11:30 AM until the time of services at 1:30 PM with Kenneth Kinstetter officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Susan's children would like to highlight the exceptional support and care provided by Steve Christensen as well as Compassus Hospice Care during her illness. Steve's selfless actions have made a significant impact on Susan's journey, and we are forever grateful for his kindness and friendship.
