Obituary of Susan "Mimi" Popp
Susan "Mimi" Popp, 74, wife of Bennie Wayne Popp, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. She was born in Lexington on February 21, 1948. She was the daughter of the late James Puckett and was lovingly raised by Selbert and Marie Peak. Susan was retired from State Government where she was a payroll and Insurance Specialist for 22 years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Susan is survived by her three sons, Bennie Lee Popp, Frankfort, Berry L. (Susan) Popp, Versailles, and Bradley L. (Millie) Popp, Frankfort; and her grandchildren, Lauren (Zack) Combs, Devin Marie Popp, Peyton (Melody Roth) Popp, Ashton Lynn (Shane Searcy) Popp, Benjamin Hunter Popp, and Sawyer J. Popp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Puckett Deaton.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd with Rev. Tiger Pennington and Rev. Dave Menser officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casket bearers will be Peyton Popp, Hunter Popp, Sawyer Popp, Steve Deaton, Zach Combs, and Steve Popp. Honorary casket bearers will be Lauren Combs, Devin Popp, Ashton Popp, Lisa Greer, Shane Searcy, Melody Roth, Eddie Boggs, and her other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research (www.stjude.org) or to Shriners Hospital (www.shrinerschildrens.org).
