Susan Rae Prexta

Susan Rae Prexta, age 74, passed away on May 17, 2021. Susan loved playing the piano, sewing, cooking, her dog, Lewi but mostly her family. She was a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms and studied nursing at the University of Akron, where she met her husband of 53 years, Michael. She is survived by her son, Michael (Laura) Prexta; daughter, Christine Wilson; grandchildren, Hannah, John, Steven and David; brother, Jack Spallino and sisters, Barb Spallino and Marilyn Spallino and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael; parents, Jack and Alma Spallino and sister, Jeanne Sykes. The family would like to thank the staff of the Cleveland Clinic for their outstanding and compassionate care. Calling hours will be Friday 4 - 7 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron, Ohio 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave., Akron, Ohio 44308. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
