Susan "Sue" E. Risler, age 83 of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, March 7 at Orchard Hills Assisted Living in Eau Claire. Sue was born on April 26, 1941 in Eau Claire to the late William and Dorothy (Schmidt) Voigt.
Sue was raised on a farm in Fall Creek and graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1959. For a majority of her life Sue worked in transportation and logistics.
Sue was married to Bruce Honadel from 1960 to 1978. She was married to Bob Risler from 2018 until his death in 2024.
Sue was a dedicated Green Bay Packers fan and shareholder. She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, dancing, lunching with friends and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Lorie (Tim) Johnson of Woodbury MN, Craig (Lisa) Honadel of Sioux Falls, SD; stepchildren, Terry (Lorrie) Risler, Jerry Risler, Gary Risler (Beth); grandchildren, Abby, Cassie (Haley) Griffin, Lacey, and Travis (Lindsie); step-grandchildren, Amanda (Tom), Ashley (Jeremy), April (Jim), Seager (Bob) and Clayton; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew Randy Voigt; cousins and many dear friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents; her brother, Ronald Voigt; and many dear cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Heartland Hospice, especially Quinn, Joy and Josh, as well as Dove Orchard Hills and Meadowbrook at Chetek for their care of Sue.
A memorial mass will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, March 13 at St. James the Greater, 2502 11th Street, Eau Claire with Fr. Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be held at Trinity Cemetery, Fall Creek.
Cremation Society of Wisconsin, Altoona is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared at cremationsociety-wi.com.
