Susan Roell Obituary
Born September 11, 1952, in Terre Haute, Indiana, to Arthur H. and Rosemary Corbin Dierdorf, Susan had lived in this area since 1977. She graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in Harrison, Ohio. Susan did the clerical work for the family dairy and worked in banking for over 32 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking for family and friends, camping, trail riding, and following the Cincinnati Reds. Susan's family was her priority, traveling to grandchildren's events, whether it was a sporting event or a concert, Susan was there. She was a long-time 4-H leader in several communities, a member of the Northeastern CropToppers young farmer's association, Iota Mu Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority, and St. Andrew Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of almost 52 years, John Roell, to whom she was married on November 23, 1973; children, Lorrie (Patrick) Golden and Steve (Gina) Roell; grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth) Golden, Katelyn Golden, Ryan Roell, Alina Roell, and Luke Roell; twin sister, Sally Ruskaup; brother, Jon (Debbie) Dierdorf; sisters-in-law, Judy Smith, Ann (Joe) Schulte, and Rosemary (John) Zinser; brothers-in-law, Russell Fox and Art Blankman; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Bob Ruskaup and Eric Smith; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Fox and Eugenia Blankman.
Visitation for Susan Lynn Roell will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Fr. Sengole Gnanaraj officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Harrison, Ohio.
