Kaplan- A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 08, 2025 at Vincent Funeral Home honoring the life of Susan Abbott Schexnider, 67, who passed away on June 6, 2025.
A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Susan enjoyed gardening and taking vacations to Gatlinburg and going to beaches in Florida. She loved to bake for everyone wihch included cookies and beautifully decorated cakes but was especially known for her homemade gingerbread houses. Besides her husband, the loves of her life were her two children, grandson, and her son-in-law that she loved as her own.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Terry L. Schexnider of Kaplan; one son, Steven P. Schexnider (Tiffany) of Lake Charles; one daughter, Kelly Schexnider Bourque (Dustin James) of Erath; one sister, Carol Abbott of Kaplan; one brother, Floyd "Sonny" Abbott of Abbeville; and one grandson, Daniel Bourque.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd McKinley Abbott Sr. and the former Alice Etter Dennis; and two sisters, Evelyn Abbott and Brenda Lee Whitaker.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home - Kaplan (337) 643-7276.
