Susan Shegrud Obituary
Sue was born December 23, 1948, to Severt and Crystal (Evje) Kvande. In 1966 she graduated from Bagley High School. She married Troy Shegrud November 26, 1966, in Bagley. They later divorced. She worked briefly as a court administrator, before becoming a mother. In 1991 she returned to college to earn a legal secretary certificate. She worked over twenty years as an administrative secretary in the Clearwater County Extension Office.
Sue was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with everyone lovingly calling her Granny. If you knew Sue, she was always humming a happy tune with a song in her heart. Her laugh, smile and happy demeanor will be missed greatly. She enjoyed baking, spending time with her family, trips to Caribou Coffee and especially Rice Krispy treats. She was always game to take a trip, whether it was to see her family, attend a birthday party or to go shopping in Bemidji. Above all she loved Jesus and desired that everyone knows and love him too. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Sue is survived by her children; Leisa (Brian) Stricker Jablonski, Kimberly (Wayde) Crist, Patricia (Kevin) Mathison, Jeremiah (Sarah) Shegrud; her grandchildren Jacob (Alicia) Crist, Stephanie (Todd) Lewis, Zachary (Jasmin) Crist, Amanda (Adam) Harmon, Cassandra (Ryan) Hoberg, Seth Mathison, Madison Stricker, Colton Shegrud, Olivia Shegrud; her siblings Joan (Alvin) Brusewitz, Kae (Wayne) Olson, Gary Kvande, Beverly Lindgren, her ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Severt and Crystal Kvande and her sister-in-law Charlene Kvande.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on February 11 at the Faith Hill Assembly of God Church in Bagley. Visitation to reminisce, grieve, and support each other will be Friday, February 10 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN with family service at 6:30 pm.
