Susan J. Smith, age 72, passed Tuesday, September 4, 2024 after experiencing a tragic fall.
Sue was a beautiful person in so many ways. She was highly intelligent, caring, a voracious reader, a gardener, a rabid Guardians (Indians), Browns, and Ohio State fan. Most of all, she was the most loving, caring, teaching, and supporting wife and mother any family could imagine or ask for. Of special note is the love and pride she shared for her grandchildren Charlie, Georgie, Novi, and Owen. They were the apples of her beautiful brown eyes. She will be remembered, loved, and missed by this family who adored and loved her.
Preceded in death by her cherished daughters Jenny and Missy, parents George and Thelma Vucovich, sister Lynne Watt (Vucovich), and in-laws Russell & Betty Smith. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Steven Smith, daughter Becky Flynn (John), son Sean Smith (Ashley), brothers Larry Vucovich (Lee), Doug Vucovich (Leanne), sisters Laraine Williams (Doug) and Judy Vucovich (Walt Kanois), daughter-in-law Shellie Hamrick, grandchildren Charlie, Georgie, Novi, Owen, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Billow Funeral Home, 85 N. Miller Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333 on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 11-1 PM followed by a brief memorial service at 1 PM. Cremation has already taken place, no graveside services.
