Susan Alana Sodren

Susan Sodren Mac Donald at the age of 76 passed away on November 21,2021 from complications from Covid 19 at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis. Sue Lived in North East Minneapolis, an area that she loved to visit the coffee shops and local stores.



Susan was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire where she finished High School. Sue went to Secretarial school in Manchester NH, and went on to be a legal secretary in Plymouth, Florida, Massachusetts, and Minneapolis. In Minneapolis she bought a house next door to her sister Karen, Harry, and Kevin and 7 houses down from her son's house. She decided to leave the secretarial industry and started her own daycare business out of her home, where she could give the love she had in her heart to others. Sue then found her passion opening a local Coffee shop (Camden Coffee Shop) just blocks from her house. Susan loved the community there and was a very large part of it bringing community together whenever possible. With a heavy heart Sue retired from the coffee shop and helped take care of her very special granddaughter, Analise who was premature and required a little more love and attention. Nana Sue was such a big part of Greg and Analise's lives from then on. Susan loved the ocean and beaches, every chance she got she would just sit on the beach and enjoy the waves of the ocean.



Susan was preceded in death by her father Alan MacDonald, mother Arline MacDonald (Kimball); brothers, Peter and John MacDonald; sister Karen Stewart (MacDonald); and her beloved dog, Max.





Susan will be deeply missed by her son, Gregory (Vera) Sodren; granddaughter, Analise Sodren; sister, Sandra MacDonald Greenwood; brothers, Kim and Donald MacDonald; and many other loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and her beloved cat Lucy who lives with Greg and Analise now.



Celebration of Life Monday December 6th at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior to service. Services will be held at Washburn - McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN 55433.



At a date to be announced this coming summer 2022 her family will be bringing her ashes to New Hampshire for a service for the family and friends that cannot make it at this time. Susan ashes will be spread at Nubble Lighthouse in Maine her most favorite location in the world.
