Susan Ivy Staker-Meyer

Susan Ivy Staker-Meyer passed away on February 18, 2026. She passed suddenly and peacefully while sitting beside her soulmate and devoted husband of 63 years, Rodney Meyer — just where she would have wanted to be.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Wayne Staker and Helen Staker; her brother, Gary Staker; Shanni Staker and Steven Staker; and her younger brother, Paul Staker.

Susan was a woman of deep love and gentle strength. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her greatest joy was her family — she treasured her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren more than anything. She never missed a recital, a game, or any moment that involved her little ones.

She loved photography and painting, always finding beauty in the world around her. She especially cherished her adventures with her daughter and best friend, Cindy. Thursday night poker with her sons was one of her favorite traditions, filled with laughter, teasing, and lasting memories.

Her love was steady, her heart generous, and her presence a gift to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Rodney Meyer; her children, Bryan (Jami), Mike (Lidia), Cindy (Scott), and Darin; along with her cherished 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Canon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Blvd. (7600 S), Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m., with services beginning at 5:00 p.m.
