Susan K. Townsend, 63, departed to her final resting place on May 1st 2024. She was born on November 1st 1960 to John and Patricia Morse (Holka) at mercy hospital in bay city MI. Where she resided the majority of her beautiful life. Susan enjoyed spending time with her family as much as possible, especially being the host of many family events where without fail her goal of putting a smile on the faces of everyone around her was always met. Susan was successful in the profession of child development for many programs such as head start, where there she would eventually meet her surviving husband of 18 years, David L. Townsend.
Along side of David, Susan leaves behind two surviving daughters, Shelby ( Daniel) and Breanna (Kyle) Townsend. Susan was also succeeded by her 4 siblings, Daniel Morse, Jackie Morse-Cygan, Debbie Morse, and Wendy Morse as well as her nieces and nephews, Jason (Stephanie) Shook, Patrick Shook, Ryan (Nikki) Shook, Sarah and Dana Morse, and Kyle (Keeley) Cygan along with several dearly beloved great nieces and nephews. Susan was also preceded by her brother Bill Morse in early childhood, as well as her late first husband Jay S. Phelps. Susan will be severely missed by all, however, after a life long battle with several, relentless health issues, she is now with the lord and no longer in pain. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Eagle Ridge Church of God (2808 Waldo Ave., Midland, MI  48642). Visitation will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
