Susan Ellen Weaver, age 74, of Niles, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. Born on July 12, 1951, in Elkhart, Indiana, Susan was the cherished daughter of the late Leland and Eleanor (Humecke) Carr. Throughout her life, Susan's compassionate nature and warm smile touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Susan spent her formative years in Elkhart, where upon graduating from high school, Susan pursued her passion for helping others by earning her nursing credentials. She devoted many years of service as a registered nurse, providing care and comfort to countless individuals in their times of need. Her unwavering dedication to her patients exemplified the very essence of the nursing profession.
Susan's capacity for love and joy did not end with her profession. She found true companionship and affection in Stephen Weaver, her beloved husband, with whom she wed on September 17, 1971, in Elkhart.
Among her many interests, Susan found solace and pleasure in sewing, as well as took immense joy in reading.
Susan's memory will be forever cherished by her husband Stephen, her sister Ann, and the multitude of friends, colleagues, and family members whose lives she so beautifully impacted. Her legacy is one of kindness, selflessness, and an enduring commitment to the welfare of others.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to a nonprofit organization that specializes in hospice, memory, dementia and Alzheimer's care in their respective communities.
Susan's family will gather at a time and location to be announced at a later date to celebrate her life and all interested parties are invited to attend..
As we say farewell to Susan Ellen Weaver, we celebrate a life brightly lived and deeply felt-one that will continue to inspire and influence those she leaves behind. Her gentle presence, though missed in its physical form, will resonate perpetually through the cherished memories we hold close to our hearts.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
