Susan M. Wilson, age 61 , of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, following a brave battle with an extended illness at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood, Indiana.
Born on July 29, 1963, in Anderson, Indiana, Susan was the beloved daughter of Larry and Sondra (Reeves) Granger. After completing her education at Alexandria Monroe High School, she found happiness in marriage to Dwight L. (Ike) Wilson on October 16, 2004.
A vibrant member of the Silver Sneakers program at the Alexandria YMCA, Susan cherished the camaraderie of her friends there. Her passion for sports shone through as an enthusiastic fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame football. In her leisure time, she enjoyed tending to her flower garden and indulging in crafts, always finding delight in the beauty around her.
Above all, Susan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, treasuring every moment spent with her family. She leaves behind her loving husband, Dwight (Ike) Wilson, daughters Lainie (Dylan Keller) Moore and Kylie (Arthur Eddie) Ryan, and son Jake (Leslie) Wilson. She is also survived by her sisters, Traci (Jeff) Wilson and Leslie Granger, and her cherished grandchildren, Piper and Henry Wilson, and Jolynn Ryan, along with her beloved furry companions, Sam and Miles.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Sondra Granger.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Susan on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, located at 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, Susan’s family kindly requests that donations be made to a local blood bank to assist those in need.
