Susann "Sue" (Krolikowski) Spranger, 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center after a brief battle with cancer.
Born on March 26, 1954, in Wausau, WI, to the late Geraldine (Kiedrowski) and Raymond Krolikowski. Sue embraced life with creativity, warmth, and an adventurous spirit. She married James Spranger on October 30, 1976, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, a partnership full of love and mutual respect. Together, they shared nearly five decades of cherished memories until James's passing on December 19, 2024.
Sue's professional journey included roles at Wausau Insurance Company, Bombardier Corporation, and Liberty Mutual Insurance. She approached every endeavor with dedication and care, but her greatest joys were the meaningful connections she built with those around her.
Her personality shone in the activities she loved most. Sue enjoyed traveling; visiting many states, enjoying cruises, and a memorable trip to Rome. She was a skilled seamstress who poured her heart into making clothing for her children, grandchildren, and even their dolls. Her hands were rarely idle, busy with embroidery, crocheting, and gardening projects that brought beauty and joy to her surroundings. She also had a playful side, delighting her grandchildren with the tradition of baking holiday cookies and sharing laughter as they created sweet treats together. Sue strove to keep the bird feeders squirrel-free, occasionally zapping the tail of a particularly stubborn squirrel with a pellet gun.
She is survived by her children: Angela (Ian Rasmussen) Spranger of Wausau, Theresa (Curt Mroczenski) Spranger of Weston, and Rob (Hannah) Spranger of Weston. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Sophia Bootz, Ehren Spranger-Rux, Lorelei Spranger-Mroczenski, Parker Spranger, and Ellis Spranger; and her step-grandchildren: Olivia and Aiden Rasmussen, and Kiera Mroczenski.
Sue is also survived by her siblings: John (Maria) Krolikowski of Katy, TX, Laurie (Cy) Bootz of Wausau, WI, and Raeann (Joel) Brandt of Saxon, WI; her godchildren: Rebecca Backes and Curt Pliskie; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Marshfield Clinic Health System, Compassus, and Rennes Group for their compassionate care and support.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1 2025, at Saint Agnes Parish, 6101 Zinser Street, Weston. Father Jerome Patric will officiate. A private family burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Sue's memory with a donation to the American Cancer Society.
