Susanne Jessie, age 78, of Holland, MI, formerly of Elkhart, IN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, September 4, 2018. She is preceded by her son, John Baker, and survived by her husband of 44 years, Teddy; her children: Susie Harvey-Tate, Barb and Phil Yike, and Lloyd and Christina Bowers; grandchildren: Sarah and Phillip Treadway, Phillip Yike, Abigail Bowers, Ashley Johnson, and Jackqulin Johnson; great grandchildren: Averly and Nolan Treadway, Marcus Ortiz, Cheyenne Mireles, Ellis Miller, Jaela Cox, and Lee'ann Collins. Susanne is a Kentucky native, and recently moved to Holland, MI. Her life centered around a strong faith in Christ and her beloved family. She loved gardening, shopping with her girls, dancing, large family gatherings, and was an avid reader. Most of all, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee and great conversation. Susanne was a pillar of her church. A leader with a servant's heart, she actively participated in both women's and children's ministries. A viewing will be held for Susanne at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, followed by an outdoor memorial service at the Pilgrim Home Cemetery in Holland, MI, Friday, September 7, 2018. Her family will conclude the day with a life celebration at one of Susanne's favorite Holland locations, The Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant.

I met Susanne for only a few minutes just after she moved to Holland and I could tell from her smile and sweet conversations that she was a special wife, mother and grandmother. Our prayers are with her family to receive God's comfort and peace for the days ahead.

Aunt Susanne!
I will miss you greatly but know that you are in a much better place now! Even though we haven't physically lived close together most of my life, I have always treasured our times together. Like you, I love my family and enjoy immensely time spent together! The Lord has received a precious jewel this week! Your memories will last with me a lifetime! I'm so thankful to have known such a sweet, precious lady!
Love you dearly,
Angie Bray
