Carolyn Sue “Susie” Damon, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in Monmouth, Oregon on June 11th, 2025. She was born on August 17, 1947, in Oceanside, California, to Mary Ella (Tacker) Ragsdale and Claude Lindsey (Bill) Ragsdale.
Susie grew up in Vista, California, alongside her cherished siblings, Gary Ragsdale, Bill Ragsdale, and Judy Ragsdale Ortiz. Together, they built a life filled with devotion, laughter, and family.
Susie dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising her three children. Once her children were grown, she took a job as a school registrar. Her nurturing spirit created a warm and welcoming home, filled with the hum of sewing machines, the sparkle of scrapbook pages, and countless heartfelt crafts. Her deep faith brought her great joy, and she found solace and connection in her online Bible study. She treasured family gatherings, always ensuring there was love and laughter in abundance.
Susie’s legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her siblings and her loving children: Phil (CJ) Damon, Mike (Krissy) Damon, and Tami (Del) Goertzen. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren—Brittany (Dakota), Ella, Camille, Nolan, Kimberly (Nathan), Luke, Alyssa, and Rebecca—as well as cherished great-grandchildren Sheridan and Kate, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and husband.
Susie’s unwavering love, gentle kindness, and creative spirit will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.
