Sue E. Duer, 78, of Parksley, VA, wife of the late Tommy Duer, passed away at Shore Health & Rehabilitation in Parksley. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Sue was the beloved wife of the late Tommy Duer, with whom she shared a deep and enduring love.
Born on the Eastern Shore, Sue was a proud native of the area. She was the daughter of the late George W. Early and Jean Parks Bowden. A dedicated worker, she spent many years as a secretary, where her kindness and professionalism were appreciated by all who knew her.
Sue's love for her family was the center of her life. She is survived by her two sons, Daniel Pruitt and his wife, Kelly, Jimmy Pruitt and his wife, Jennifer; her stepdaughter, Tammy Hurley and husband, Roger; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her lifelong friends, Betty Ann Keisel, and Judy Loomis with whom she shared many years of friendship and laughter.
Sue had a passion for animals, especially cats, and could often be found feeding and caring for them. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, cooking delicious dinners for friends and family, and sharing her warmth through kind, thoughtful phone messages—even when she missed a call.
A woman of faith, Sue found comfort and joy listening to Pastor Jonathan Carpenter on the radio every Sunday morning.
She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her nurturing heart, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.
