Mrs. Susie Belle Collins King Edwards, age 91 of Westfield passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Waddell Nursing Facility in Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Edwards was born on October 11, 1933, in Patrick County Virginia to the late Joseph Gideon and Mintoria Odell Craddock Collins. Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church while her health permitted. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughter, Darlene King Tate; three sons and daughters-in-law, David King and Sadie, Jeff King and Bunny, Terrell J. King, III and Michelle; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; step daughter and family, Carol Edwards; step son and family, Fletcher Edwards; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Collins Walker, Naomi Collins Hall; Myrtle Collins Love; a brother, Joseph G. Collins, Jr.; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in the death by her first husband, Terrell J. King, Jr. ; her second husband, Raymond Lester Edwards; two step daughters, Ann Edwards Montgomery, Angeline Edwards; seven sisters, Mable Collins Griffiths, Hazel Collins Stevens, Hester Collins Eaton, Gladys Collins Matthews, Linda Collins, Edwards, Clara Collins Hall, Thelma Collins Bruner; and three brothers, James Collins, Sr. Vester Collins, and Robert Collins. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Randy Edwards, Reverend David King, and Mr. Joseph G. Collins, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
