Suzanne Aikman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home - Ponchatoula on Oct. 21, 2025.
Suzanne P. Aikman, age 83, of Ponchatoula, passed away on October 18, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1942, in Mineola, New York. Suzanne dedicated many years of her professional life as a bookkeeping administrator for J.C. Penney, where she was known for her diligence and strong work ethic. In her later years, she devoted her time and energy to supporting the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1052, a cause close to her heart. Suzanne cherished spending time with her friends; whether enjoying a good meal at a local restaurant or sharing stories over a drink. She adored nature and found pleasure feeding squirrels and birds in her backyard. Her grandchildren were her joy, and she was most lovingly referred to as 'Nana'. She loved fiercely and made everyone feel like they were part of the family. Her warmth, loyalty, and lively spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Suzanne is survived by her children, Christie Noble (P.J.), Kevin Aikman (Rhonda), and Lori Rabalais (Mark), Carol Aikman, and Baynum Aikman (Kayla); grandchildren, Christian Legoria (Colleen), John Noble (Virginia), Margaret Aikman, McKenzie Aikman, Joshua Aikman, Nicholas Bailey, Dari Vizier (Heath), and Jude Aikman (Maddison); great grand-children, Egan Fraizer, John Clark Noble, and Cameron Ziegler; and her niece and nephews; and her loving companion of 10 years, Terry James "Jim" Thibodeaux.
Suzanne is preceded by her husband, Christian Aikman; her parents, Abram and Margaret Peenstra; and brother, George Peenstra; and his wife Barbara.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Richard Murphy Hospice House. https://www.richardmurphyhospice.com/donate
