Suzanne was born on Jan. 28, 1955, to the late Billy and the late Linda Sue Nance, and she grew up in the North Fork Jones Mill Community. She married Bobby Barrett on June 7, 1974, and spent the next fifty-one years as a devoted wife to Bobby and loving mother to their two sons. She was preceded in death by both her parents and by her in-laws, Charles and Estelle Barrett.
Mrs. Barrett was an active and faithful member of the Hico Church of Christ and later the Cottage Grove congregation. She was an excellent cook, homemaker, and caregiver. She spent much of her time caring for the sick or elderly who needed a kind or helping hand. Suzanne was so loved by the family she was dedicated to and was adored by her nieces and her great nieces and great nephews who found her so playful and loving. Suzanne was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to be loved by her.
Suzanne's funeral service is planned for 12:00 P.M. Friday at Cottage Grove Church of Christ, conducted by David Alan Jackson and Charlie Tom Cate. Named as pallbearers are David Barrett, Cody Perkins, Justin Stokes, Garrison Barrett, Daniel Clements, and Gary Downey. Burial will follow services in Walker Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:00 A.M. Friday until the time of service at the church.
