Suzanne Kimberly "Kim" Ely Angelo (1955–2024)
Kim Ely Angelo, 68 years old, died peacefully with her daughter by her side on February
13th, 2024 at Artis Senior Living in Brick, New Jersey.
She was born in Lakewood, NJ on April 2, 1955 to Jane Brouwer, who raised her as a
single parent until 1963 when Jane married Richard Ely. Richard adopted Kim and the
family spent their first few years living on the Ely Farm in Hightstown, NJ. It was at this
time, that Kim developed her love for animals, especially dogs and horses.
Kim lived most of her life on the Jersey Shore and attended Point Pleasant Beach High
School. Friends remember her for her big laugh and fun-loving personality in high
school. She seemed happiest spending time with friends and family at the beach and in
the water.
Kim worked in accounts payable/receivable. For many years, she worked for Jack
Baker's Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant, NJ. In 2020, Kim worked for the Jersey Mike's
franchise in their corporate offices. She grew up with the Cancro family and Peter
Cancro has been her guardian angel as her final employer. Kim's family will forever be
grateful for the love and kindness he showed her as she battled Alzheimer's over the
last 3 years.
Kim was a 37-year faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Over those decades, she
established a friend group and support team that she cherished along her path of
sobriety.
Kim is predeceased by her mother, Victoria Jane Brouwer McNeil and her father,
Richard Ely. She leaves behind her beloved children, Rebecca Jane Golda (Richard) of
Brick, NJ and Toby Angelo (Courtney) of North Port, FL. She adored her visits with her
grandchildren, Oliver and Sadie Golda, as well as Trinity, Talia and Charlotte Angelo.
She also leaves her sister, Pamela Ely Rothenberg (Eric) and her niece, Olivia Icanberry
and nephew, Maximilian Martins.
A memorial will be held to honor Kim's memory in the spring.
