Suzanne "Sue" Jo Huver, age 75, of Ionia, passed away on July 18, 2025. She was born on December 10, 1949, in Ionia, the daughter of Francis George and Doris Marie (Rubach) Larson. Sue was a graduate of the Ionia High School Class of 1967. On June 22, 1968, she married James E. Huver in Saranac. Sue dedicated over 40 years to the Ionia Meijer, where she managed the deli and later, the gas station. As a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sue was deeply involved in parish life-helping to organize the annual Fall Fest, preparing meals for funeral luncheons, and volunteering at the Lenten Fish Fries. She proudly supported her husband, Jim, by organizing VFW funeral honors and events. Beyond her church and family, her commitment to service extended to volunteering with Ionia Sparrow Hospital and the Ionia Free Fair. Sue had a gift for conversation. She connected with customers and formed lasting friendships with co-workers. At home, she took great pride in keeping the family farm beautiful-zipping around on her zero-turn mower or carefully tending her flower beds. No matter the activity, Sue approached everything with full commitment, and her attention to detail. Sue is survived by her sons, Andy Huver of Ionia and Tony (Jen) Huver of Hudsonville; and her cherished grandchildren, Henry and Madelyn Huver. She is also survived by her sister, Judy (Gary) Volker, and several beloved nieces and nephews. Brothers and Sisters in law Kenneth (Patti) Huver, Frances (John) Brown and Jerry (Phyllis) Huver. Aunt, Joyce Evans of BattleCreek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Doris Larson, and loving husband, Jim. He preceded her in death just days earlier, on July 9, 2025, after 57 years of loving marriage. Sue's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Alysia (Isaac) Blough, Faith Hospice, Luminate, and Cornerstone Caring and the many cherished friends and extended family who offered their presence and support to Sue. Your kindness, support, and care brought comfort and peace during a difficult time. We will forever be grateful for your love and dedication to our family. A joint Visitation for Jim and Sue will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, with the Rosary prayed at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass, honoring the lives of James E. Huver and Suzanne J. Huver, will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Ionia. The Rite of Committal will follow at Balcom Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church or Ionia VFW. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com
