With heavy hearts, the family of Suzanne “Sue” Leckelt announces her sudden passing on August 20, 2024, at her home in Iota, at the age of 62. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Iota, with burial to follow in the Iota Cemetery, led by Pastor Kevin Colson.
Sue was born on January 22, 1962, to the late Allen and Mary Miller Deaville. She embraced life with an infectious spirit, finding joy in the simple pleasures of the outdoors—camping under the stars, casting a line into waters, and basking in the sun at the beach. Her enthusiasm extended to playing bingo and discovering treasures at garage and yard sales, but her greatest love was for her family.
A cherished wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, Sue’s legacy of love will forever shine through her husband, Paul Leckelt, Sr., and their four children—Shane Leckelt and wife Donie, Paul Leckelt, Jr. and wife Allie, Chad Leckelt and wife Kori, and Justin Leckelt and wife Dominique—all of Iota. Sue’s grandchildren, Alexis Veillon, Lea Leckelt, Keely Leckelt, Nathan LeLeux, Jordan Broussard, Seth Broussard, Vaeh Leckelt, Chad Leckelt, Jr., Angelique Leckelt, and Adalynne Leckelt, along with her great-grandchildren, Andee Veillon, Collin Veillon, Archie Veillon, Tyler Connor, and Easton Leckelt, brought her boundless joy and pride.
Sue is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her siblings Marlyn Guidry, Tommy Deaville, Ricky Deaville, Allen Deaville, Jr., and Katie Deaville; her stepfather, Willie Dietz; and her grandson, Justin Leckelt, Jr.
In honoring her wishes, the family invites friends and loved ones to gather for visitation at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota from 9:00 AM until the time of services on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
The pallbearers carrying her to her final resting place will include Shane Leckelt, Paul Leckelt, Chad Leckelt, Justin Leckelt, Dagen Guidry, and Gavin Doucet.
