Suzanne Oglesby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. - Santa Rosa on Feb. 22, 2026.
Suzanne Marie Oglesby (née deTurbiville), known to most as Sue, passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa, California, on January 20, 2026, at the age of 84.

Sue was born on November 5, 1941, in San Francisco, to Fay and Edward deTurbiville. The second oldest of eight children, she grew up in a lively household that helped shape her steady, caring nature and deep devotion to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Oglesby, in 2013, and her son-in-law, Scott Neal, in 2016. Sue and Dale shared 45 years of marriage, building a life centered on love and family. Together, they owned and operated DMO Transportation for many years. Sue also spent many years in customer service at Safeway, where she loved assisting others and forming many lasting friendships.

Sue is survived by her children: Teri Rowland and her husband Rick; Marla Neal; and Travis Oglesby and his wife Alex. She was a proud grandmother to Ashlin and Trent Neal; Tyris and Nolan Oglesby; Meghan Rowland; Trevor Rowland and his wife, Jenny and a loving great-grandmother to Blair. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward and Joseph deTurbiville, and sisters, Carol Goodrich and Florence Fullerton.

Family meant everything to Sue. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren and found great joy in watching the lives they built. She was kind, easy to talk to, and able to strike up a conversation wherever she went. Whether you spoke with her once or knew her for years, she had a special way of making you feel comfortable, seen, and like an old friend. Her laugh was contagious, and her sense of humor unforgettable. People were naturally drawn to her warmth, and she left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to cross her path.

Her family is deeply grateful for the many years they shared with her and for the memories that will continue to bring comfort.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa.
