It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Marie Patkus, a loving wife, devoted mother and a cherished grandmother, who passed away at her home on Sunday May eleventh at the age of seventy. She was born on December 30th 1954 in Michigan City Indiana to parents Roy and Rita Lawson. She married her loving husband George Patkus on December 12th 1999.

Sue, as everyone knew her, loved people. She would give you the shirt off her back and the best hug in the world if you needed it. She could talk to anyone and make them feel like they have known each other for years. She made people feel welcome and always had a joke to tell. Sue was a wonderful caring mother that would do anything for her children. She adored all of her amazing grandchildren. She was so proud and thought the world of them. They brought so much joy and happiness to her life. Sue was an avid reader and never missed an episode of WGN's early news broadcast with Larry and Robin or The Price Is Right. She loved animals and is now reconnected with her beloved cat Fidel. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Sue is survived by her husband George Patkus, Her children Danyon (Sue) Carpenter, Dyanne (Jackie) Cole and Katy (Brandon) Moore. Her step children Karen (Scott) Callanan, Stacy (David) Spurr and Scott (Jen) Patkus. Her Grandchildren Austin (Ashley) Howell, Aaron Carpenter, August Carpenter, Amanda Carpenter, Liam Moore, Payton Moore, Levi Cole, Taylor Callanan, Ben Callanan, Zack Callanan, Daniel Trezak, Max Trezak and Addison. Her Siblings Mary (Bill) Elwell, Tom (Suzy) Lawson, Paul Lawson and Carl (Karen) Lawson.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Rita Lawson. Her Brothers Steve (Andy) Lawson and Eric Lawson. As well as her cherished cat Fidel.
